- develop essential tools that facilitate compliance, aligning organizational policies and practices with donor requirements and applicable laws and regulations; and

Leadership
Andrea Y. Hart, MS, CGMS
Andrea Y Hart is Principal of AYH Strategy & Solutions, a boutique consulting firm in the Washington, DC region that helps organizations navigate the complexities of grants management. Known for her organizational skills and attention to detail, Andrea began her career in nonprofit program management, delivering high-quality services to grant supported initiatives. In 2009, she shifted her focus entirely to grants management, focusing on budget and financial oversight, reporting, and operations. She has collaborated with stakeholders at all levels to clarify compliance requirements and strengthen internal systems, enabling organizations to confidently pursue their missions.
With over 15 years in leadership, Andrea brings both technical know-how and practical solutions to enhance grants management operations. Her background includes leading teams and managing multi-million dollar portfolios of federal, state, local, philanthropic, and corporate grants and contracts—as Director of Grants & Contracts at ZERO TO THREE ($45 million) and as Assistant Director of Grant & Contract Administration at Fund for Public Health in New York ($25 million). She builds effective systems and sustainable practices that facilitate compliance while supporting long-term impact.
Andrea holds a Master of Science in Urban Policy Analysis and Management from The New School’s Milano Graduate School, and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the State University of New York at Stony Brook. She is a Certified Grants Management Specialist (CGMS) and a member of the National Grants Management Association, having previously served as the Capital Area Chapter’s Recording Secretary (2020-2021). Andrea continually monitors evolving laws, regulations and industry best practices to ensure her clients receive up-to-date guidance that adheres to the latest standards in grants management and compliance.
